About the route

THE HOLY PILGRIMAGE

holymap.jpg

We call this The Sex, Death, Meditation Tour, we hit three of the holiest sites in India, representing three aspects of life.

Sex for Khajurao, that is the only place in the world where an ancient society decicated an entire temple complex to tantric orgasmic practices.
Death for Varanasi, the holiest city in India and the oldest in the world. People travel here for thousands of kilometers to die by the shores of the river Ganga and reach Nirvana.
Meditation for Bodhgaya, where the Buddha became enlightened under a Bodhi tree.

And finally, we finish in Love at the biggest monument for love over built, at the Taj Mahal in Agra

Flight Plan

Khajuraho - Sex
We stay at Khajurao at a very special place. Swami Ganga, the owner, has been a guide to the tantric temples since his early youth and has been the personal guide to Osho, the world famous enlightened Indian Mystic. Swami Ganga's knowledge of the temples is elaborate and intricate, his hotel Harmony is not only home to tourists and western tantra groups, but visiting mystics and musicians. We could easily spend days wandering through these erotic sculptures, that almost make your skin tingle, so vivid and luscious are the depictions on those stone figures.

Varanasi - Deaththe holiest city in India,  existing before recorded time,  this legendary city is the home of Shiva and Parvati.   The legend is, if you die in Varanasi you go straight to Nirvana.     Millions of peoples over the centuries make the pilgrimage at their elderly age to die here and get cremated at the burning Ghats along the Holy Ganga River.

Bodh Gaya - Meditation
As soon as we ride past the city gate the smell of incense surrounds us and the color maroon blossoms everywhere on the side of the road in the robes of the pilgrim monks. While some of Bodh Gayas busy streets are a colorful hustle and bustle of rickshaws, Tibetan vendors that sell malas and other religious accessories, as soon as we actually enter the temple complex, a quietness and serenity descents. Groups of Monks, Lamas and Swamis from all over the world drift by silently or sit together in big groups with eyes closed with a little buddha smile under the holy Bodhi tree.

Orchha
Far off the beaten track, Orchha was the capital city of a kingdom until captured by Rajput emperor Aurangzeb. The riverside is littered with the remnants of temples and forts, some well preserved some overgrown - waiting for us to discover them in the jungles.

highlight_agra.jpg

Agra - Love
The Taj Mahal is the biggest monument to love ever built. It can be visited by the group for sunrise, on our very last morning after the tour. Before that we indulge in a big last dinner, all together, in one of Agras finest restaurants, for a last treat and the big goodbyes.

- Is it safe to travel India on motorcycles and do you provide insurance?

We do NOT provide any insurance of any kind.  Traveling around India and traveling by motorcycle is inherently dangerous. It can result in serious or fatal injuries to you and others. You will be solely responsible for your own risk and liabilities and to obtain your own insurance and hold harmless the organizers of the tour and any others associated with the tour.

Enfield is Prayer is NOT a license company. We are not incorporated, licensed, bonded or insured. We merely act as an organizing entity to recommend hotels and restaurants and help rent Enfield's to ride in India.

We will go over all the safety ins and outs in our pre-tour meeting before we start the tour. Just a couple of quick things we do.  We recommend you ride slow and always 100% in control at all times. No need to add karma to the road, the Indian roads are enough.  We have a method to shield our new riders when we cross intersections until everyone is familiar with the flow of the Indian traffic and at the end of the day, its up to every individual to take their own responsibility to be aware and focused on the road. This is our motorcycle meditations. This is where we look deep inside ourselves and witness our reactions and how we respond to moments. Challenging situations will arise, and most of us will take this as an opportunity to Rise to the occasion!
